The Center for Evidence-Based Crime Policy will hold its 2024 Symposium on Thursday, June 20, 2024. The theme of the CEBCP 2024 Symposium will be "Hard Questions for Evidence-Based Crime Policy" and will center around the following questions:

1. What do we know about the recruitment and retention of police officers?
2. Are alternatives to traditional criminal justice systems feasible or effective?
3. Is there good evidence for community-based crime prevention?
4. What do we know about mental health and the criminal justice system?
5. Can evidence-based policies reduce disparity in the criminal justice system?
6. What do organizations need to develop the capacity to implement evidence-based policy?
7. Is there any place for stop and frisk in policing and crime control?
8. What strategies and policies can be used to intervene with persons at high-risk for gun violence and mass shootings?
9. Can popular juvenile justice strategies reduce risk or recidivism, and when?
10. What are effective approaches in reducing victimization harm?

The inductions to the Evidence-Based Policing Hall of Fame and the Distinguished Achievement Award in Evidence-Based Crime Policy will also be awarded at the symposium's award ceremony. As always, the CEBCP Symposium is free, and all are welcome.
