Yasemin Irvin-Erickson

Dr. Yasemin Irvin-Erickson is an Assistant Professor of Criminology, Law and Society at George Mason University. She received her PhD from Rutgers School of Criminal Justice in 2014. She researches primarily in the area of economic empowerment of vulnerable populations, urban security, victimization, and technology using quantitative and mixed-method study designs. Her recent work in this area includes evaluating the economic impact of violence on vulnerable populations, enablers and barriers to women’s economic empowerment, the potential uses of technology in response to violence and victimization, and translating best available evidence on crime and victimization into actionable knowledge for practitioners.
