Dr William Johnson completed his PHD in December 2022 after studying at George Mason University in the Department of Criminology Law and Society. His previous education included a Masters degree in criminology, and a Bachelor of Science in Criminology, both from George Mason University. His research interests include hate crime legislation and implementation, organizations, and the use of emergent technology in policing. Dr Johnson has worked with the Center for Evidence Based Crime Policy since 2014. Projects included firearm violence and policy, policing strategies, police use of time, and police use of technology. He is continuing to work with the Center on ongoing research projects while also working with the National Guard Bureau in Arlington.
