Hannah Xiaoyun Wu, Ph.D.

Dr. Hannah Xiaoyun Wu specializes in policing research, evidence-based program evaluation, and the innovative application of quantitative methods and data analysis to challenging criminological problems. Her most recent work focuses on understanding the efficacy of everyday proactive police work in mitigating crime and accidents. She has been involved in several randomized and quasi-experimental program designs and evaluations and is proficient with causal inference. In her current role as Senior Analytics Engineer at Netflix, she leads the measurement of Netflix's ads delivery infrastructure.

Dr. Wu received her M.A. and Ph.D. in Criminology, Law and Society from George Mason University. Before her current position, she was a Staff Data Engineer at Tubi TV, Data Engineer at TikTok, Principal Data Analyst at Capital One, Research Data Scientist at the National Policing Institute, a post-doctoral research fellow at the Center for Evidence-Based Crime Policy at George Mason University, and Managing Editor of Criminology & Public Policy.
