Gretchen Baas

Research Assistant

Gretchen Baas is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Criminology, Law, and Society at George Mason University. She serves as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Center for Evidence-Based Crime Policy (CEBCP), where she primarily works for Drs. Koper, Lum, and Dong. Gretchen received her MPH in Behavioral, Social, and Health Education Sciences in May 2021 from Emory University. Prior to that, she received her BS in Health and Wellness, Communication, and Public Health in 2017 from the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities. Broadly, her research agenda is centrally concerned with how law enforcement and public health strategies can be used to prevent or mitigate the harm of injuries and violence. Her research interests include mass shootings, firearms, policing, crime and place, and quantitative analysis.
