Gretchen Baas

Research Assistant

Gretchen Baas is a doctoral student in the Department of Criminology, Law, and Society at George Mason University. She serves as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Center for Evidence-Based Crime Policy (CEBCP), where she primarily works for Dr. Weisburd. Gretchen received her MPH in Behavioral, Social, and Health Education Sciences in May 2021 from Emory University. Prior to that, she received her BS in Health and Wellness, Communication, and Public Health in 2017 from the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities. Gretchen has previous experience working in hospital-based violence prevention programs, substance use research, and conducting research on the Cardiff Model adaptation in Atlanta, GA. Her research interests include violence prevention, firearms, crime and place, and quantitative analysis.
