Criminal Justice in the U.S.: Lessons from the Past, Prospects for a New Crime Commission

The Congressional Briefing will take place at the Dirksen Senate Office Building, Room 106, on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. The building’s location is northeast of the Capitol bounded by Constitution Avenue, C Street, First Street, and Second Street N.E. The main entrance is on the Southwest corner of the building, at Constitution Avenue and First Street. A map of the U.S. Capitol and its buildings is located here.


Attendees are strongly encouraged to use Metro to attend the Congressional Briefing. The closest metro stop is UNION STATION (Red Line). Union Station also has parking for those who are driving in. The next closest station is CAPITOL SOUTH (Blue/Orange/Silver Lines).


Please note that security is very tight at the Dirksen Senate Office Building. Visitors will be required to go through a security checkpoint, and prohibited items into the Senate Buildings include: Firearms, ammunition, any other weapons, explosives, destructive devices, pointed objects, and sealed packages. Security may also prohibit very large bags, and all bags are subject to search. Information on prohibited items is available here.
