All symposium events will be held at the George Mason University ARLINGTON CAMPUS Founders Hall, 3351 Fairfax Drive, Arlington, VA 22201. A PDF map of the Mason Arlington campus is available here. GMU-Arlington Campus is located directly up the street from the GMU-Virginia Square Metro Stop. PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT the larger George Mason University Fairfax Campus.

Air:

George Mason University’s Arlington campus is closest (6 miles) to Reagan National Airport (DCA).  The D.C. metro (see below) connects DCA to this campus (blue line from DCA, transfer to Orange/Silver lines, see below). For those coming from states/countries that are more easily connected to Dulles International Airport (IAD), this airport is approximately 23 miles from Mason’s Arlington campus. A cab (Washington Dulles Flyer Taxi) or Uber/Lift is the best way to reach the campus and surrounding hotels from Dulles International Airport.

Metro/Train:

The Mason Arlington campus is conveniently located next to the Virginia Square-GMU station (Orange and Silver lines). From the station take the escalator to the street level, and turn to face Fairfax Drive. Across the street and to the right, you will see the FDIC building. The Arlington campus is next door. Click here for a map. The Washington DC Metro connects to Amtrak at Union Station.

Parking:

Participants are encouraged to use the metro. However, there is also ample visitor parking directly under Founder’s Hall. Driving directions are available here. The cost is $3 per hour ($15/day maximum). To access the Founders Hall garage, use the alley behind Founders Hall, turning off either Kirkwood Drive (between Hazel Hall and Truland Building) or Washington Boulevard at the traffic signal between Giant and GMU Foundation Building (come down the hill and go past the GMUF garage and the Original Building loading dock). Accommodations:

There are a number of hotel options near the George Mason Arlington Campus and accessible Metro stations. Those needing accommodations might consider the Residence Inn Arlington Courthouse (1 mile away) or the Hilton Garden Inn Arlington/Courthouse Plaza (1.2 miles away), both which are next to the Courthouse Metro Station, which is two metro stops from the GMU-Virginia Square metro stop. There is also a Hilton at the Ballston Metro Station (0.7 miles away) as well as the Hyatt Arlington (1.7 miles away, next to the Rosslyn Metro Station).
